Several video clips of the QAFL segment on the former Channel Seven show ‘Sportscene’ have recently been unearthed. Here we have Ken Hose and Noel McGuinness previewing the Bruce Pie Cup final between Mayne and Morningside to be played at Keith Beavis Oval (Windsor Park) that afternoon, 9 May 1982. Ken Hose inadvertently calls it the ‘David Pie Cup’ at the end of the clip. David Pie Jnr is Bruce Pie’s grandson, a Windsor-Zillmere and Queensland interstate player of the 1980s. Mayne won the game by 65 points.
